Are you looking to take an active and adventurous
vacation? Do you have a few spare weeks? Are you looking for the "trip
of a lifetime"? Look no further We at Global Adrenaline are
adventure travel specialists committed to providing the finest in customized
itineraries globally. Challenge your mind, body and soul with a Global
Adrenaline adventure to: Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America,
Antarctica or the Arctic!
Activities Our trips are designed with adventure seekers
in mind, exploring new cultures, geographies and ecosystems in a participatory
fashion. Itineraries include hiking and trekking, mountaineering, mountain
biking, safaris on foot or by four wheel drive, sea kayaking, canoeing,
whitewater rafting
Lion. (Serengeti, Tanzania)
and scuba diving. Many of our trips offer the opportunity
to participate in more than one kind of activity. We feel that trips which
offer varied activities will keep you interested and enhance your travel
experience by offering a variety of perspectives on a country, its landscape
and its people.
Some of our trips offer multiple activities in one
day, but most of our trips are focused on experiencing each activity for
multiple days before moving on to the next. This enables you to gain some
expertise and have a very different experience than an average traveler
devoting one day to an activity or sport. Our trips are challenging and
full of energy - everything that adrenaline is all about!
Cultural
Interactions Our interactive cultural tours enable you to intimately
experience our world's diverse cultures.
Bhutanese dancers celebrating the 25th anniversary
of the Kings coronation. (Thimpu, Bhutan)
Follow the footsteps of Buddha through India, journey
with us across the Chinese Silk Road or trace the evolution of Buddhist
art through Southeast Asia. No matter which cultural tour you choose, you
are sure to come away with an understanding more precious than any photo.
Our guides, fluent in the local languages and experts
in the indigenous cultures, facilitate spontaneous ad hoc conversations
with local people, attendance at local festivals and observation and understanding
of local religious practices and traditions. They are the catalysts that
enable this experience and understanding to occur. No matter which trip
or what type of activity you choose, interaction with local people and
exposure to their culture infinitely enriches the experience.

Ecotourism
Focus We are an ecotourism company, continually working
to minimize the impact of our visit on the natural environment. We are
aware of the fragile nature of the cultures and physical environments
where we work. We promote conservation, encourage sustainable development
and make
A Breathtaking view of the park! (Abel Tasman
National Park)
economic contributions to local communities. Where
possible, we employ local staff which directly benefits the local communities
vs. government tourism bureaus.
Let Global Adrenaline take you responsibly "off
the beaten track" into pristine areas that, in many instances, have
experienced little, if any, tourism. We have pinpointed areas where isolation
has preserved the stunning natural environment and traditional ways of
life. Take advantage of the rare opportunity to explore these areas and
return with extraordinary photographs and memories of these unique cultures
and majestic sceneries.
Social Considerations Global Adrenaline makes every effort on each expedition
to help the local populations where we guide. This means hiring local
guides, using local suppliers and making sure that they are given fair
pay for their services. All too often the tourist dollars never make it
to the local government and most stay with the national level government
through money flows to government owned travel agencies. By channeling
as much of the money as possible to local governments and communities,
the local people are given alternatives to logging out their forests,
selling off mining rights in their rivers, or poaching endangered animals
like the snow leopard. Tourism becomes a viable option to natural resource
exploitation, leaving something wild for future generations to enjoy.
Where possible, Global Adrenaline will also contribute to community welfare
through partnerships with local agencies in developing health, education
or environment programs.
Environmental Considerations Global Adrenaline is committed to the preservation
of the wilderness habitats in the remote regions explored by our trips,
which are designed to promote an understanding of these regions' delicate
ecosystems. We take a low-impact, self-contained approach, carrying in
what we need
Trekker above Macchu Pichu
and carrying out all garbage, leaving the environment
unspoiled for future generations of explorers. To minimize the impact of
our trips on the environment, where possible we use stoves rather than firewood
for cooking meals. We burn any paper garbage from our kitchen or collected
from our clients. All food items originally in glass bottles will be rebottled
in plastic that can be reusable on each trek. Used cans, foil from the garbage
fire and used batteries will be taken back to civilization by our staff
and delivered to a local waste management project where these items will
be recycled. We recommend that you bring your used batteries back to the
USA with you.
Global Adrenaline is intimately involved with the creation
and maintenance of wildlife reserves in China, and has proposed some similar
reserve ideas in regions of India. These reserves will eventually create
jobs for the local people, while protecting the natural environment. Tourism
continues to play an increasingly important role in the continued existence
of these reserves. If you would like more information on nature reserves
in China and India, and how you can personally help, please contact our
office and we will send you more information.
Group Size We feel that smaller groups are better for a more
personal travel experience - rest assured, you won't be herded around
on a large bus when you join us on one of our trips! Our scheduled trips
have between 5 and 15 participants, but we customize trips for any size
group - large or small.
Small groups enable greater access to and interaction
with the local people, cultural sites and wildlife and help us to minimize
the impact we have on the local environments we visit. Come on one of
our trips alone or with a group of friends - either way you are likely
to make lifelong friends through the adventures you will share together!
Trip Leaders We feel that the journey into an area can be as
interesting as the goal of the expedition - and the right guide will enhance
your adventure travel experience immensely! All of our trip leaders have
Polar bear (Greg Mortimer)
expertise in the culture, history, vegetation and
wildlife in their region of focus. Our guides come from all over the world,
most have PhDs and some are professors at leading universities. Others are
experts in the sport or activity in which they guide. We also make it a
practice to employ local guides on all of our trips. Their region specific
knowledge and expertise greatly enhance the Global Adrenaline experience.
By doing so we benefit the local economy and empower the local people.
Our guides have significant experience guiding trips
in areas ranging from the Kitchatna Spires of Alaska to the forbidden
peaks of the Kingdom of Muli in Sichuan. They are passionate about our
destinations and delighted to introduce our clients to their favorite
places, people and the behind-the-scenes spots a regular tourist would
have never found. In fact, our guides often become lifelong friends of
trip participants. The criteria by which we choose our guides include:
spirit of adventure
enthusiasm
ability to relate to our clients
easygoing nature and sense of humor
passion and knowledge about a region, its
people, culture, flora and fauna
activity expertise
fluency in local languages
environmental and cultural sensitivity
experience guiding trips
ability to manage complex trip logistics
resourcefulness and ability to deal with
the unexpected
foresight to prevent problems from occurring
first aid and CPR certification
Should you climb a peak, raft a river or trek with
a Global Adrenaline guide you can be sure you are being guided by an experienced
professional. Travel with us and let our guides help you combine learning
and adventure into one amazing vacation!
Accommodation Global Adrenaline offers trips with different
styles of accommodation as well. Most of our
North Face of Mount Everest. (Everest Region,
Tibet)
adventures include some combination of lodge and
camping accommodation.
Lodges:
When we choose lodges or small hotels to accommodate our groups, we
endeavor to stay in establishments run by the local community. We typically
choose reasonably priced, but high standard 3 or 4 star accommodation
with private baths with hot showers. Single accommodation is available
on most trips for a supplement.
Camping:
Most of our tours incorporate a significant amount of camping. We provide
sleeping tents, a dining tent, washing facilities ("bucket baths"
or solar showers) and a toilet tent or other private toilet facility.
Furthermore, our friendly staff sets up and takes down our campsites.
They are fully trained to meet our exacting standards of hygiene, comfort
and safety and take care of all our needs. What more could one want
on a camping expedition?
Food When in cities or traveling overland, we will
mostly eat in small restaurants. When camping, our kitchen staff accompanies
us throughout the expedition, preparing and serving all our meals and
washing all the dishes. Our camp cooks are experts in local and western
dishes and we usually eat delicious, wholesome meals comprised of a mixture
of local dishes, meats, rice, vegetables, fruit, etc. Special dietary
needs can be accommodated with prior notice.
Equipment Each itinerary requires a different set of equipment.
We supply basic equipment for all camping trips such as tents, cooking
equipment, stoves, washing basins and other base camp necessities. You
only need to bring your own personal equipment. Once you make a reservation
with us, we will send you a list detailing all the personal equipment
required for your trip.
Safety We take great care to ensure that you have a healthy
and safe trip. All food is prepared hygienically and we take all precautions
possible to minimize intestinal difficulties which can arise when traveling
in developing countries. Emergencies are rare, but they can happen. Each
of our guides is trained to deal with the unexpected and contingency plans
for emergencies are made with the guide prior to the trip. Each of our
guides is trained in CPR and First Aid to offer basic care with any minor
health issues.
Global
Adrenaline Experience Global Adrenaline was founded by two Harvard MBAs
that took a post-graduation trip to the Himalayas and discovered a calling
for adventure travel and planning. They are partnered with a veteran of
adventure tourism planning with over 10 years of experience in designing
and expediting logistically complex expeditions and cultural tours. Over
the years, they have been joined by like-minded professionals - many as
